I've been watching a pair of bald eagles on a live cam on their nest in Lake Pleasant Regional Park (about 20 miles northeast of me).
It has been quite the drama this mating season. The female (dubbed Jill) dumped her longtime mate and got a new one (Jack) just before the nesting season.
I'm rooting for these two, but they have a lot to learn and this may not be the season for them. Their first two eggs were taken by ravens because Jack was not bringing Jill any fish or incubating at all so she could have a break. There is still time for a new egg or two by the end of the mating season (through March), so hopefully, Jack gets his act together by then.
You can follow the nest here.
