I hope you all are having a great holiday season! I lost track of where I hid some of my kids' presents but thankfully was able to find them all and wrap them before their last day of school before break. I guess I'm just too good at being sneaky.

Dashing through December
This month is going by too quickly! I feel as though if I blink, I will miss a few days. We have our Christmas tree up, and the kids wrapped their presents for each other. It was exciting because my son that struggles with some of his motor skills was able to wrap presents on his own for the first time this year!

November is flying by!
I can't believe we are almost to the end of November! Happy nearly-Thanksgiving to my readers from the U.S. We had excitement this week as my oven broke (the repairman said it was for good this time), and I am crossing my fingers that our new one arrives and is installed in time for Thanksgiving! I hope so because I'm really hankering to bake some pies and pumpkin muffins!

Keeping up my word count
Well, we are six days into NaNoWriMo and I'm happy to say that I have more than 10,000 words written of my historical romance and am staying on track to finish on time. I owe this largely to some of my online friends who have been doing word sprints with me. We challenge each other to write for 20 minutes straight and then report back our word counts when we are done. I love it! I can't wait to share this book with you when I'm done!

Safe in Your Heart is out!
Attack of the goose!
Army veteran James is an introvert and would rather avoid people altogether. However, when he encounters quirky shop owner Daisy and her nephew accosted by angry waterfowl, he does the gentlemanly thing and saves the day. Daisy doesn't have much trust for men after her father abandoned his family when she was young, but she feels a connection with James from their first meeting.
Is Daisy just the thing James needs to come out of his shell, and can he help her learn to trust her heart?

Room in Your Heart is out today!
I'm so excited for my new trilogy starting! The Veterans of Shelby County is about three best friends who served in the army together, and their return home after serving overseas.
The first one is out today - go check it out!

I'm obsessed with a pair of bald eagles
I've been watching a pair of bald eagles on a live cam on their nest in Lake Pleasant Regional Park (about 20 miles northeast of me).
It has been quite the drama this mating season. The female (dubbed Jill) dumped her longtime mate and got a new one (Jack) just before the nesting season.
I'm rooting for these two, but they have a lot to learn and this may not be the season for them. Their first two eggs were taken by ravens because Jack was not bringing Jill any fish or incubating at all so she could have a break. There is still time for a new egg or two by the end of the mating season (through March), so hopefully, Jack gets his act together by then.
You can follow the nest here.

The Princess and the Power Walker is out today!
Book Three of my Mall Romance series is out today!
About the book:
Olivia enjoys going on mall power walks with the senior crowd, but a young and handsome man making laps around the retail center catches her eye. And she is determined to figure him out.
Matt is finally out of the house and getting exercise, just like the doctor ordered. But he didn't know that with the older crowd came the beautiful owner of the phone accessory kiosk, who the gaggle of grandmas kept hinting that he should date.
Buy it today for only 99 cents on Amazon!

Back to writing
I was finally well enough to make it out to my writer's group this week, and I was able to do more than 2,500 words into my new fic during that session!
It is a great group that meets every Friday. We chat for the first half hour, and then do four sessions of 15 minutes of writing, five minutes of break. The group is so encouraging.
I also got to wear my new "Nerd Princess" shirt my husband gave me for Christmas.

I got the flu!
On top of the holidays and one of my kiddos having a birthday, I was knocked out by a nasty flu bug. I haven't been able to do much writing lately and that makes me so sad.
I'm starting to feel a little better, but now my husband has gotten it! Diffusing all the germ killing essential oils that I can!
