I was so thrilled to be at a local Barnes and Noble to sign my books in person. I was so nervous going into the event, but it turned out great! I almost sold out them out of their copies of my books.
The very best part was when my husband and kids came to visit. I love how supportive they've been of everything, and I know they are proud of me for releasing my Love Inspired debut. I couldn't do it without them.
Now that the first one is out of the way, I look forward to many more!
Thank you to all of you who came along with me on this journey! I'm so excited to say that Their Busines Betrothal, my first Love Inspired book, is on the shelves. You can go grab it in the store, or you can order it online.
I can't believe I finally made it to February 2022! For those of you who have been following me for a while, you may remember that this is the month that I will make my debut as a Love Inspired author! Their Business Betrothal will be in bookstores on Feb. 22 and I can't wait to see it on the shelves. This is my dream come true!
Did you hear that high-pitched squeal of excitement all the way from Arizona? Two days after Christmas I got a big box from Harlequin, and it contained my author copies of my Love Inspired debut - Their Business Betrothal. It felt so surreal to hold it in my hands!
Their Business Betrothal will be in bookstores on Feb. 22, and I can't wait for you to read it! If you'd like to pre-order it, you can do that on Amazon.
I hope you all have a happy and safe holiday season. If you are looking for a short and sweet holiday read, check out the story I released last year, Warm Wishes.
What does the change in the seasons mean here in the desert? Maybe we will finally drop below triple-digit weather for good this week. This morning we had a lovely cloud cover, so I really did start to feel like it was fall.
I can't believe our summer is already over! We took the kids on one last camping trip and then sent them off to school last week.
While it's a pain to get everyone out of the door in the morning, my family thrives on routine. So it's nice to have a little more structure to our days now.
I almost fell out of my chair when I saw the e-mail in my inbox. I finally got to see the cover for my debut Love Inspired novel!
What do you think of it? I think they did a lovely job. I can't wait to share this book with you. It will come out in February 2022.
April is almost over! I know it's hard to believe. I've seen that some of you have gotten snow this week. Hang in there, spring weather will arrive for you soon, I hope! At my writer's desk, I've sent back another round of edits on my Love Inspired book.
One of the things editors do is make you realize how many times you repeat a word in your book. It has certainly opened my eyes so that I won't use those as much moving forward. But I'm sure I'll find other new favorite words to repeat!
Well, I had a birthday this week, and I turned 41. While the first year in this new decade of mine was marked by a pandemic, it wasn't met with total loss -- I sold my very first manuscript to Love Inspired at the age of 40!
I do enjoy self-publishing, but publishing a book through Harlequin has been a dream of mine since I was in college and worked at Waldenbooks.
This only goes to show that it is never too late to achieve your dreams! And more is on the way! I will probably be publishing more short stories this year, but I'm also writing another book to pitch to Love Inspired. This is only the beginning and I can't wait to see what my 41st year brings!
Thank you all for reading and supporting me. I can't wait to share more stories with you.
I can't believe the month is almost over! Do you think March will bring spring or more winter storms? I have relatively mild weather here in Arizona, but I'm hoping things warm up in Michigan where my family lives!
This month I have been hard at work plotting another sweet romance to pitch to my Love Inspired editor. I sent it off to her today. Hopefully, she likes it and I can start writing! I'm also working on putting together a box set for my Mackinac Island series, so those of you who haven't read it yet will be able to get it all in one download!
Also, I had my cover designer do some "spring cleaning" on my covers for my Veterans of Shelby County series. Check out how pretty they are below! If you haven't read the series, you should grab the first one, Room in Your Heart, for only 99 cents!
I'm so excited to announce the release of another short story today! Beat of my Heart is only 99 cents, or free to read on Kindle Unlimited.
About the story:
Two reporters compete for one assignment. But will the only beat that matters be in their hearts?
Bailey is a new reporter with the best beat - covering City Hall. The only thorn in her side is the veteran reporter from a rival paper. He goes out of his way to annoy her at meetings, and to stuff his face on all the free food.
Justin loves getting under the cub reporter's skin. Teasing her is the only way to find amusement during boring City Council meetings. But when their papers merge and only one of them gets the city beat - tensions between them rise.
Working late nights together to break a big story, these two find that they have more in common than they thought. They might just become friends...or maybe something more.

I hope you all had a good Christmas. We had a pretty relaxed day at home. My kids got new bikes. One of the benefits of living in Arizona is that they got to go out and test them right away!
I ate way too much pie and am recovering from all that sugar. In the month ahead, I will be plotting some of my next books. I have a few ideas to pitch to my editor and I'm excited to explore those stories a bit more.
